The history and milestones of the Canine Association of Uganda.
From a shared vision to a national movement
Canine Association Uganda began as a dream in 2019, when a small group of passionate pioneers in purebred dog breeding dared to imagine a brighter future for Uganda’s dog industry.
Throughout 2019, this founding group met again and again, debating late into many evenings, united by the conviction that Uganda deserved a professional, unified voice for canine welfare and breeding excellence. By 2020, that vision had taken shape on paper: we drafted our Constitution, Memorandum, and Articles of Association, building the foundation for everything that would follow.
On 7th January 2021, our dream became reality. Canine Association Uganda Limited was officially registered as a company limited by guarantee of its members — a moment that marked the true beginning of our journey.
Our motivation is electric: we want to see better, stronger, and healthier dogs at every club and every dog show in Uganda! We are passionate about continuously raising the standard of dog breeds, kennels, dog-keeping practices, and the bond between dogs and their communities — and we’re just getting started.
We aim to see Uganda where all animals are respected and cared for, and where our furry friends have even more humans to call family.
